The Details:

Disney Solitaire is a mobile card game by Superplay, set in the magical worlds of Disney and Pixar. It combines the casual fun of solitaire with such a big and historic IP like Disney and Pixar.

I joined the project as an audio director to handle the sound design, implementation, and collaborate on the musical aspects, making sure that every audio element—from sound effects to music cues — was in harmony with each of Disney and Pixar's film. This included deep research into their sound design approaches, composing and designing in a style that respects their century-long practices, and working closely with the talented composer Dror Amit.

Developing audio for a game under Disney's IP is both a challenge and a privilege. To achieve the right tone, I spent months studying Disney and Pixar films—analyzing sound trends from early operatic scores like "Snow White", to contemporary musicals like "Frozen", the immersive, diegetic soundscapes of "Ratatouille", the wacky world of "Aladdin", and the surrealistic world of "Inside out" and "Alice in Wonderland".

The creative process involved:

  • Designing sound effects that echo the emotional beats of Disney and Pixar's storytelling.

  • Adapting traditional sound design effects like reverb, delay, and saturation to suit the enrich each films identity.

  • Experimenting with unique instruments and sound objects to add character and charm.

  • Aligning every element with the whimsical yet polished aesthetic that fans expect from Disney and Pixar.

The result is an audio experience that complements the gameplay while respecting nearly a century of innovation in sound.

This project has been one of the most rewarding and educational experiences of my career, and I couldn’t be prouder to have contributed to such a cool and rich game!
